Limestone tiles are basically natural stone. They are eco friendly and give a very rare experience that you will only get to feel once you start living with them. In a way these tiles have contributed a lot towards formulation of the concept of green building, which is fast catching up in India. In these times where cost-efficiency, productivity and concern for the environment need to go hand in hand, home builders and property developers have a choice between a building designed mostly from limestone tiles and those which are made of other sub standard material. Green urbanism is the practice of creating communities beneficial to environment. Strategies used to achieve the goals of green urbanism require good quality material, which limestone tiles can at least proudly boost of, to make it mandatory to adopt sustainable and green methods of overall development.
There is a need to encourage house owners and builders to adopt more and more of Limestone Tiles as today they are manufactured in the most technologically advanced manner. Steps should be taken to provide necessary amenities and infrastructure, giving tax and insurance incentives to promote the concept of green buildings made of limestone tiles. It is important to educate developers about the environment friendly benefits of the concept and how they can derive long-term financial benefits out of this wonderful piece of natural stone which we call limestone!

Limestone Tiles Make Home Designs Look Elegant
The moment you lay your eyes on them, you are going to love these beautiful travertine tiles. They have a certain degree of charm which is difficult to find in most other specimen that you would be looking at the store while doing a purchase for home improvement and furnishings. They have been in fashion right since the time people started using tiles to add beauty to their home. Owing its high durability, these tiles have carved a distinct image, a mark of credibility in the market of home decor and flooring installations.
Tiles used anywhere always looks good, but lime stone tiles attracts the most. Found in the deep waters of sea and oceans, limestone is composed of dead creatures and sea particles like shells, amphibian moss etc. The process of its making is pretty interesting. This is how it takes a natural shape. The sea shells assemble at the bottom of the ocean bed, and is there for some time and then sedimentary rocks mixes with them in extreme decayed condition. With the passage of time, they convert into plain cemented layers which gradually take a shape of the hard rock because of extreme sea pressure. This is how raw lime is formed and with further process of crystallisation, they are given the shape of tiles which are subsequently used as pavements and flooring material at high traffic places.
But there are some things about Limestone Tiles which you wouldn't like. They are a very porous material and adequate attention should be given while installing these tiles. They are susceptible to cracks in case water seeps in. But hat is not a huge deterrent as their elegance will last for generations, beautify any home, and its subtle hues colors compliment any choice of décor.
